Immigration Services

Our legal team offers free and low cost services in a safe, confidential, bilingual space. Every year we help hundreds of clients achieve their goals. We reunify families by guiding them through the complexities of the immigration process. We fight deportation and defend immigrants in court, helping them win asylum and Permanent Residence. We keep the community informed of its legal rights and help our clients unlock the benefits of employment authorization, Permanent Residence, and U.S. citizenship.

La Raza Community Resource Center is well-known organizations among San Francisco’s immigrant communities. For countless immigrants and refugees, we are the first point of contact in their search for information or legal assistance. We take this responsibility very seriously. In recent years we have expanded our Immigration Program to meet the increasingly complex challenges that the community faces today. Our legal team of three attorneys and three legal assistance works hand-in-hand with our Social Services team, volunteers, and nonprofit partners to deliver comprehensive legal services to community members in need. We provide the following services:

Family-Based (Affirmative) Immigration Services:

Deportation Defense (Defensive) Immigration Services:

·      Representation in Removal Proceedings*

·      Asylum*

·      Special Immigrant Juvenile Status*

·      U Visa*

·      Limited Assistance for people we cannot represent in court

Capacity is extremely limited and we cannot accept new cases when our caseload is full. We may add you to a waitlist or refer you to another organization if we do not have capacity for your case.
